Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and to provide information to website owners. Similar technologies include localStorage, sessionStorage, and pixel tags (also called web beacons or clear GIFs).
This Cookie Policy explains how Clayis / I Ching Realm ("we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit clayis.com. This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

We do not currently use marketing or advertising cookies. If we introduce them in the future, we will update this policy and obtain your consent before deployment.
4. Local Storage & Similar Technologies
In addition to cookies, we use the following technologies:
- localStorage: Used to cache oracle reading results and hexagram data during your session, so you can revisit readings without re-generating them. Data is stored on your device only and is not transmitted to our servers.
- sessionStorage: Used temporarily during the oracle casting ritual to track coin toss results and hexagram assembly state. Cleared when you close the browser tab.
- Canvas/WebGL: Used for visual effects (particle systems, smoke, vortex animations). These do not store personal data but may use GPU fingerprinting-like techniques for rendering. We do not use canvas fingerprinting for tracking purposes.
5. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies are placed by third-party services:
- Analytics: We do not currently deploy Google Analytics or other non-essential analytics cookies on clayis.com.
- AI API Provider: When you request an AI Deep Reading, necessary content is transmitted server-to-server. The AI provider does not set browser cookies through our site.
- Payment Provider: If you make a purchase, our payment processor may set cookies for fraud prevention and session management. These are governed by the payment provider's privacy policy.
We do not allow third-party advertising networks, social media platforms, or data brokers to set cookies on our Service.
6. Your Consent Choices
6.1 EU / EEA (ePrivacy Directive & GDPR)
Under the EU ePrivacy rules, consent is required before non-essential cookies are stored. We currently use only cookies or local storage needed for authentication, security, language, display preferences, and features requested by the user, so no non-essential cookie banner is presently shown. If analytics, advertising, or other non-essential storage is introduced, it will remain disabled until the user has made a valid consent choice.
6.2 Brazil (LGPD)
Under the Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD, Law No. 13,709/2018), cookies that involve the processing of personal data require your consent, except when processing is necessary for the legitimate interests of the controller or for the proper functioning of the service. We follow the same consent mechanism described in Section 6.1 for Brazilian users.
6.3 United States / California (CCPA)
The CCPA does not require cookie consent but grants you the right to opt out of the "sale" of your personal information. We do not sell your personal information. You have the right to request that we delete your personal information collected through cookies. See our CCPA Compliance page for details on exercising this right.
6.4 Managing Cookies in Your Browser
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Here are links to cookie management instructions for major browsers:
Please note: Blocking or deleting cookies may affect the functionality of the Service. If you disable strictly necessary cookies, the oracle may not function correctly.
7. Do Not Track (DNT)
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. We do not currently run analytics or advertising tracking. Strictly necessary storage may still be used to provide requested functions.
8. Global Privacy Control (GPC)
Global Privacy Control (GPC) is a browser signal that indicates your preference to opt out of personal data sale and sharing. If we detect a GPC signal, we treat it as an opt-out request under the CCPA. We do not sell or share your personal information for advertising purposes, so GPC primarily affects our analytics tracking.
9. Cookie Retention
Cookies are retained for the durations specified in Section 3. After the retention period expires, cookies are automatically deleted by your browser. Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser.
You may manually delete cookies at any time through your browser settings.
10. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our use of cookies or for legal, regulatory, or operational reasons. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where required, seek your renewed consent.
